This solution, which is used for Dermalure’s Jessner Peel, was invented by Dr. Max Jessner and has been in use for more than 100 years. He formulated it out of three different chemicals that work together to safely exfoliate skin and treat various skin imperfections and disorders.

Now you can apply the Jessner Peel safely as directed. With one layer, you can exfoliate and freshen your complexion. Or, you can apply two or three layers to improve skin health by helping remove and heal skin damage that is more extensive than regular “wear and tear.” It was designed to remove superficial layers of skin, dry out active acne, dislodge blackheads, reduce shallow wrinkling and scarring, help lighten hyper pigmentation and improve the overall appearance and health of sun-damaged, acne prone, aging skin.

What’s Inside The Jessner Peel?

This medium-depth medical grade chemical peel integrates a lactic acid (Alpha Hydroxy Acid), salicylic acid (Beta Hydroxy Acid), resorcinol, along with other components, to provide a peel with less potential side effects, but with a combined higher benefit than each individual ingredient could provide on its own. Beta hydroxy and alpha hydroxy acids are typically used for superficial chemical peels. Resorcinol is structurally and chemically identical to phenol, a chemical used for deep chemical peels. Ingredients for this peel is: Salicylic Acid (14%), Lactic Acid (14%), Resorcinol (14%), Reagent Alcohol, No Animal Testing, Paraben Free, Made in the USA.

Lactic acid has exfoliating and whitening effects and stimulates the formation of collagen, a special protein that makes skin elastic and firm. It’s is significantly softer and lighter than other fruit acids, which is why it is mainly recommended for delicate skin, sensitive skin. It also infuses and sustains moisture in your skin.

Salicylic acid has a skin-thinning, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effect. It eases itching and increases healing of superficial skin defects.

Resorcinol is the third active component of the peel which intensifies the action of the acids. Resorcinol erodes dead and uneven skin while sterilizing the skin with its antiseptic properties.

These balanced proportions of chemicals work in unison to provide a potent layering exfoliator of the epidermis, leaving clear, even and smooth skin underneath. Our Jessner Peel is generally safe for most skin types and is especially effective for normal to oily, sun damaged, dull, and uneven skin. With the Jessner Peel, skin is renewed and rejuvenated.

How Does It Work?

Jessner’s solution is a compound of multiple chemical agents that work in unison when applied to the face, making it perfect for people with a wide array of skin conditions. This peel’s three active ingredients balance eachother out, promoting skin regeneration in multiple ways. The AHA Lactic Acid stimulates collagen and elastin growth while softening the epidermis. The BHA Salicylic Acid is Oil-soluble and exfoliates the skin deep enough to reach the pore lining, dissolving dirt and debris that will cause blackheads, whiteheads and big pores. The resorcinol erodes dead and uneven skin while sterilizing the skin as it has antiseptic properties. Combining these super chemicals together creates a clear, even, smooth complextion after only a couple application cycles.

Additional Information on Jessner Peels:

Cycles: Jessner Solution is most effective when painted on in multiple layers and conducted every three to four weeks. Results are noticeable after one session of using Jessner peels, while gradual improvements in skin texture, look and feel will surface over time.

Side Effects: R&D has surfaced a temporary itching and burning sensation, heightened skin sensitivity, flaking, light frosting, redness, swelling, and inflammation. Aggressive high SPF sunscreen use is crucial for post-peel comfort and skin safety.

Storage Instructions: Store the Jessner Solution in a cool, dry, dark area far from sun light as the sun will oxidize the solution, rendering it damaged.

Sunburn Safety

This product contains Alpha Hydroxy acids (AHAs) that could increase skin sensitivity to the sun, increasing the risk of sunburn with or without proper protection.
